It’s a new year. Winter has come and gone, and spring is now upon us. This means it’s time for everybody’s favorite activity of the year — spring cleaning. Although we may dread the idea of it, there is no denying that it is a necessity for the most of us that don’t constantly perform upkeeping year round on our homes. Do this only if it’s possible to safely climb onto your roof to inspect it. If not, you can merely observe from the ground or from a ladder and take note of any gaps in the shingling or shingles that appear loose and ready to fly away in the next big storm. Also, if possible, check to be sure that your flashing is not buckling or coming apart from the roof.
